The Journey of Audrey
Audrey grew up raising and loving all kinds of animals, from horses, birds, and rabbits to many dogs and
cats. She enjoys being outdoors in nature, watching the trees sway, hearing the wind blow, and listening
to the birds sing. She also loves the sounds of the wind blowing through her many wind chimes. Her
favorite times are sitting on the porch in beautiful weather, snuggling up with a dog. She has always had
a passion for dogs.
Life has thrown her many challenges, but she has learned to take each challenge as it comes with dignity
and grace. When her husband had a brain tumor years ago, she decided it would be helpful to bring in
more income by opening an aerial fitness studio. She absolutely loved it and the community so much
that she remained open for ten years, even through the tough times of COVID.
She started offering kitten yoga classes, and that was so successful that she did a doggie yoga class too!
She called it “DOGA.” The classes filled the room, and all the money was donated to the local shelter
that brought the dogs. “It was a great idea because we knew the dogs loved the special attention they
were getting, and we brought awareness to the dogs that needed to be adopted." She was giddy when
the dogs came and stated at the introduction of one class, "One day, my next business will be related to
dogs!”
Sadly, when her studio lease was up, the space was sold. At that time, another tragedy happened. Her
husband had a massive brain bleed and was on life support and not expected to live. It was a scary and
stressful time. With so much uncertainty, she sadly closed her doors.
They say when one door closes, another opens. She saw on social media that someone was retiring from
the dog walking/sitting business to pursue another career while her husband was still in the hospital.
She felt it was meant to be. After contacting the person and having an interview, she met all the dogs
and pet parents. Audrey was excited and ready to start her new business. From 10 clients, she now has
over 250 dogs who have stayed with her and many cats she has visited. In business for four years, she is
happier than ever, doing what she loves—being around animals and giving them love.
